La Roche and Grand Ruisseau are names that were formerly given to the neighboring parishes of Baie-Egmont and Mont-Carmel, founded in 1812. This Acadian region stands out as the most francophone in Prince Edward Island . It is also known for its musicians, craftsmen and numerous cooperatives.
The historian and folklorist Georges Arsenault knows this corner of the Island well and has seen him grow and to which he remains very attached. On the occasion of the bicentenary of the arrival of the first settlers, he presents us the small and great history of Baie-Egmont and Mont-Carmel. Illustrated with a hundred photos taken from many family albums, this beautiful publication is a testament to the rich Acadian heritage of Prince Edward Island.

Cette région acadienne se distingue comme étant la plus francophone de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Elle est aussi reconnue pour ses musiciens, ses artisans et ses nombreuses coopératives.
